STD Code Trace Utility
7
------ Version I 1.00 February 1991 ------
This DeskTop application provides you with a
means of matching a location with an STD code,
or matching an STD code to a location.
On double clicking on the application icon in a
filer window, it's icon will be installed on
the iconbar of the desktop and it will proceed
to load the directory entries.
This will take a little while as there are over
4000 directory entries to be read in.
Clicking select over the !STDtrace icon on the
iconbar will open the search window to allow
you to enter either a location name or an STD
code.
--------- Searching the directory ---------
A short note on the search procedure:
All strings entered are changed into an initial
Capital letter, with the rest in lower case.
ie. London / Stoke-On-Trent / etc.
Please note that any name with Saint in it is
shortened to the recognised abbreviation of St.
and no space between the fullstop and start of
the next word.
ie. St.Albans / Buckland St.Mary / etc.
Also hyphenised strings are initial capitalled-
ie. Stoke-On-Trent / Burgh-By-Sands / etc.
Entering an STD code will find all entries with
the same (or part) of that code.
Note that not all locations are catered for in
the directory, only exchange locations.
(as in your local phone book)
